I’m Jeni Betts, the Iowa-based creator behind Discover & Bloom and Genuinely Jeni. I’m a researcher by nature, a midsize style lover and a new-ish mom who wants to make the most of the time we spend away.
I created Discover & Bloom for women who want a beautiful trip with useful detail behind it: where to stay, what to wear and whether the experience is worth it. Sometimes that means a remarkable country estate. Sometimes it means a food hall, a long walk or leaving an afternoon open.
My husband Hassan and I love exploring with our little buddy. Family travel is part of the story here, alongside stays, style and ideas for traveling with a partner, friends or on your own.

My grandmother, Jean Lyon, traveled in Europe in the 1930s. Her curiosity and example helped shape mine. That sense of discovery is at the heart of this space.
