DISCOVER & BLOOM IS FOR

Travel that feels like you—
thoughtful, stylish and genuinely worth it.

THE HONEST EDIT

Is it actually
worth it?

Not every beautiful hotel deserves the splurge. I look at the room, the beach, the journey, the food and the details that decide whether a trip feels effortless—or exhausting.

MEET JENI

I'm not interested in seeing the world just to check it off a list.

I'm Jeni—a 40-something, midsize fashion lover, lifelong researcher, new-ish mom and traveler from Iowa. I created Discover & Bloom for women who know there is always something wonderful to discover: a beautiful hotel, a lovely garden, an off-the-beaten-path destination, an ultra-luxurious country estate or a place that makes you wonder if you could live there.

Everything here begins with a real question, a real trip or something I genuinely wanted to know.

THE LIFE BETWEEN THE TRIPS

There's more wonder in the world when we see it together.

Motherhood has added a wonderful new dimension to the life I love. Our son took more than 30 flights before his second birthday, and we love bringing him along on our adventures. There are more logistics and smaller shoes in the suitcase—but also more laughter, more curiosity and a little buddy who makes every place feel new.

A DEDICATION

For my grandmother,
Jean Lyon.

My grandmother was a pioneer in her own right—an accomplished author, teacher, principal and mother. Long before I began telling travel stories of my own, she inspired me to see the world.

We grew up in the same small Iowa town, attended the same undergraduate school—the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls—and each became mothers later in life. Across generations, we shared a curiosity about places beyond home and a passion for exploring.

This photograph was taken during her European trip in the 1930s. Her courage, curiosity and example are part of the reason Discover & Bloom exists.
